Miss Universe Sri Lanka
''Miss Universe Sri Lanka'' (formerly Miss Ceylon or ''Miss Universe Ceylon'') is a national pageant in Sri Lanka to choose ambassador for the Miss Universe pageant.
==History==
Sri Lanka debut in 1957 at Miss Universe pageant. Previously the country named as ''Ceylon'' for competing at the pageant in 1957 to 1972. Nowadays, the official name for the country named as Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka pageant became national franchise for Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Asia Pacific International pageants.
In 1996 Miss Sri Lanka did not exist until 2004, due to financial problems and nobody organized the local pageant.
In 2005 the pageant renamed as Miss Universe Sri Lanka pageant and the winner would be representing Sri Lanka at Miss Universe pageant and runner-up for Miss International pageant. Sometimes for the winner can also compete at Miss International or the name of title at the same contest will be renaming as Miss International Sri Lanka.
